Arsenal have fallen short in their quest to become Premier League champions this season after a magnificent run of form from leaders Liverpool.

Arne Slot’s side have lost just one match in the Premier League all season and currently sit 13 points ahead of Arsenal in what is surely too big of a gap to bridge for the Gunners.

Arsenal’s injury crisis this season has not helped matters and with the absence of the likes of Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka, goals have been a real issue for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Take nothing away from Liverpool however, who have been superb and one player in particular Mohamed Salah has had the season of a lifetime. Unfortunately for Arsenal fans, it could be down to one legend at the Emirates Stadium.

Mohamed Salah reveals advice from Arsene Wenger has helped his form

Speaking to TNT Sports, Salah has revealed how advice from former Arsenal manager and legend at the club Arsene Wenger helped to take his game to another level this season.

Salah stated: “I got the advice from Arsene Wenger in the past when he came here I asked him the question what makes the difference between a good player and a great player?”

The Egyptian winger then went on to explain the answer that Wenger gave and how he has taken that advice into this wonderful season for Liverpool.

Salah explained: “He told me the great players, it doesn’t matter how they perform in a game, he always stays focused and waits for the moment and he’s always in the game.

“I’ve put that into consideration and when you understand your feeling and other players’ emotions you must know emotions go up and down so I try to be stable.”

Salah has been the difference for Liverpool this season

Arsenal and Liverpool have recruited differently in recent seasons and ultimately Liverpool’s focus on their attack has proved the difference between the two sides this season.

Both teams have been solid at the back with Arsenal actually conceding slightly fewer and having the best record in the league however, Liverpool have scored 15 more goals than the Gunners and 13 more than anyone else.

Arteta will know that more firepower is needed to take his team to that next level and the likes of Alexander Isak and Benjamin Sesko are on the club’s radar.

Wenger’s words of producing in big moments will also be something to consider for the Gunners’ young squad and they will hope to take inspiration from the former boss.
