Anthony Gordon to Arsenal could well be one of the transfer sagas of the summer and Sky Sports News reporter Keith Downie has shared an interesting update on the situation.
Gordon is a long-time target for the Gunners and with a new left-winger on the agenda, his name has once again cropped up.
However, Bayern Munich are also keen on Gordon and with the likes of Michael Olise and Harry Kane having success in Germany, a move abroad may appeal to Gordon.
Indeed, Barcelona are also keen but according to Sky Sports man Downie, Arsenal are not yet out of the race.
If you could sign one of Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali or Tino Livramento, who are you taking right now and why?
Arsenal and Barcelona remain interested in Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon
With Gordon almost certain to leave Newcastle, it remains to be seen just where he’ll land and how much Newcastle will sell for.
With meetings this week apparently taking place in Barcelona, rumours are rife the winger could end up in Spain.
However, according to Keith Downie, it’s not a foregone conclusion.
“It’s my information actually they’ve (Bayern) been watching him since the turn of the year but they have made their interest concrete and have made a formal approach to Newcastle United to find out really what it would take to get Anthony Gordon to the Bundesliga next season,” Downie said.
“My understanding is Arsenal are still keen and so too are Barcelona. You will have seen I’m sure most of you the eagle-eyed amongst you Anthony Gordon’s representatives Will Salthouse and Adam Dugdale over in Barcelona apparently meeting Deco.
“My understanding is there’s been no contact between Barcelona and Newcastle United as yet.
“There is a chance that that could follow. I do think that there is some interest there but at this moment in time it’s Bayern Munich who have got the most concrete interest in Anthony Gordon.“
Who Anthony Gordon actually wants to join this summer
It’s not a bad position to be in really. Gordon knows that three of the best teams in Europe want him and that’s quite impressive given he’s not been brilliant this season.
However, he does apparently have a preference.

Gordon is said to told friends he’d prefer a move to Bayern Munich if possible as he looks to become the final piece in the jigsaw for Vincent Kompany’s all-conquering German outfit.
Kompany is well aware of Gordon from his time in England and with Harry Kane a focal point up front, this could also benefit England as well.
Of course, it will come down to who pays the money for Gordon but right now, the Liverpool native appears to favour Bayern.
