Brazil and Juventus star Danilo has now admitted that missing Arsenal trio Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Jesus are important for his side.

The trio are currently absent from the Brazil squad, who are set to face England and Spain this week, with injury issues.

Gabriel Martinelli missed Arsenal’s last two games after coming off against Sheffield United with a cut to the foot, whilst Gabriel Jesus was left out after just returning from a long-term layoff.

Gabriel Magalhaes was included in the squad, but pulled out as a precaution after an injury scare, meaning that there will be no Arsenal representation in Brazil colours at Wembley Stadium.

Brazil star Danilo laments absences of Arsenal trio

Speaking in a press conference ahead of Brazil’s clash with England, Danilo praised the trio for the impact they have had for Arsenal and the National Team.

“Of course it will be a big loss for us, because the three Gabriels, Martinelli, Jesus and Magalhaes, they are important players for the National Team even if they weren’t all in the squad,” he stated.

“I hope they can recover soon.”

The trio are likely to be fit for Arsenal’s trip to Manchester City after the break, although it remains to be seen if Martinelli can fully recover from his knock in time to start the game.

Brazil will compete in the Copa America this summer, which will run at the same time as the European Championships.

If all three players are fit, then it will be a shock if one is not included in the Brazil squad. Magalhaes has seen his National Team role increase as his Arsenal performances have improved.

The centre-back has been one of Arsenal’s best players this season, and is arguably one of the best in the world in his position, and he will hope to earn a starting spot for his country.

Martinelli may not start given that Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior plays in his position, but he will be a useful substitute on the wings.

Jesus has been criticised at times during his Brazil career, and the emergence of Endrick could be worrisome for his National Team hopes. However, his experience will be necessary, particularly in the absence of Neymar.
