Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze is a well-known target for Arsenal and Oliver Glasner has been speaking about the England man’s future.

Eze is being linked with Arsenal once more and with nearly a full month of the transfer window to go, Palace fans are worried their star man will be leaving.

As we know, Arsenal have splashed on Viktor Gyokeres, while Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi has also finally arrived after years of being tracked.

However, it is Eze who remains a target as well and over at the Crystal Palace end, Oliver Glasner has once again had to field questions over his future.

Palace have been fighting off interest in Ebere Eze for some time now and it has always felt like a matter of time before he gets his big move.

However, as of now, he remains an Eagle and until someone pays the money Steve Parish wants, you’d imagine he will remain at Selhurst Park.

As for Eze himself, well, his manager Oliver Glasner has revealed that nothing has changed and that ultimately, the midfielder is doing the business as usual in training.

“No, I haven’t spoken to them since the last game…I hope you don’t believe it, of course,” Glasner said.

“Of course, I talk to the players nearly every single day so yes we talked about it but I won’t tell you what we were talking about.

“You know it’s part of success. If you are successful, it means the players perform very well and then it’s yes, you are Crystal Palace, this is what happens. The big clubs are interested in your players, we had this last year, especially with Michael (Olise), and it just shows we have great players in the squad who do very well for Crystal Palace.

“But if you watch training, you will see they are 100% focused on Palace.”

Why signing Eberechi Eze could be an issue for Arsenal’s XI

For many Arsenal fans, the idea of signing Eze is one that leaves them salivating.

However, the reality of the situation is that it would give Mikel Arteta a headache in terms of who he selects for his best XI.

With so much attacking talent already, Eze would be dislodging someone already embedded into Arteta’s structure.

And according to former Gunner Adrian Clarke, that is an issue.

“I think Eze, Odegaard and Saka behind Gyokeres would be tremendously exciting. He seems like a good pro, he isn’t kicking up a fuss,” Clarke said when discussing Eze this week.

“The issue is that we don’t have a rampaging left-back and that would unbalance the team a bit, but many teams play with a lopsided system and it works fine.”

Of course, Eze is a top player and would improve Arsenal. But where he plays, is something only Mikel Arteta will know.
