The Premier League title race is really starting to heat up with Manchester City moving to within four points of Arsenal over the weekend.
Mikel Arteta’s team suffered a sickening late blow at Sunderland as Brian Brobbey denied the team all three points in the 94th minute.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 1 | 11 | 8 | 2 | 1 | 20 | 5 | 15 | 26 | |
| 2 | 11 | 7 | 1 | 3 | 23 | 8 | 15 | 22 |
Meanwhile, Manchester City defeated Liverpool 3-0 to close the gap on the Gunners down to four points heading into the international break.
Pep Guardiola’s team have not looked at their best this campaign, but after beating the Reds 3-0, Paul Scholes has been discussing their title chances.

Paul Scholes picks between Arsenal and Man City
Scholes believes that Manchester City are the new favourites to win the Premier League title race following the weekend’s action.
The former Manchester United midfielder admits he’s not been overly impressed by Guardiola’s side this season, but their win over Liverpool has changed his mind.
When asked to pick between Arsenal and City, Scholes told The Good, The Bad & The Football: “But I’ve not been impressed by City that much in all honesty.
“It’s been a different way for him to do it, hasn’t it? But yesterday, I thought for the first time, I think they have to be slightly still favourites ahead of Arsenal.”
Elsewhere, Wayne Rooney thinks Arsenal will be nervous about City hunting them down, having previously been in this position.
After the international break, it’s the North London derby, and Arteta will be looking to produce an emphatic response against Spurs.
Arsenal’s next five Premier League games compared to Man City’s
As the Gunners host Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium, City face a tough away trip to Newcastle United in their next fixture.
Arsenal beat Newcastle away in dramatic circumstances, so the pressure is on them to go and match the Gunners’ result at St James’ Park.
| Arsenal | Man City |
| Tottenham (H) | Newcastle (A) |
| Chelsea (A) | Leeds United (H) |
| Brentford (H) | Fulham (A) |
| Aston Villa (A) | Sunderland (H) |
| Wolves (H) | Crystal Palace (A) |
The North Londoners then face Chelsea away, Brentford at home, Aston Villa away and Wolves at home, in a mixed run of games.
The good news for Arsenal is that Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz are all in contention to return from injury after the break.
