Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes took a major hit at the weekend.
After being dubbed as the title decider all week, Arsenal simply had to avoid defeat against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Unfortunately, Mikel Arteta’s side suffered a 2-1 loss and are now deemed the outsider in the title race.
Is Declan Rice right or is the Premier League title race DONE?
Speaking on the Good, The Bad and The Football YouTube channel, Paul Scholes explained what’s missing in Declan Rice’s game that could end up costing Arsenal the league.

Paul Scholes says Declan Rice isn’t a leader for Arsenal
Scholes believes Arsenal don’t have enough leaders in the dressing room to pip Man City to the Premier League.
The former Manchester United midfielder thinks Rice is a super player, but he’s missing leadership in his game.
“Talk about big players, look who stepped up yesterday, Bernardo Silva,” Scholes pointed out.
“Where are Arsenal’s players that will win you the league? Where was Declan Rice, Declan Rice is a great player, but wasn’t quite…”
Scholes added: “As good as we know Declan Rice is, he is yet to show he can get hold of the game like Bernado Silva did yesterday.
💭 How many points will Arsenal and Man City take from the next five matches?
“Like we had when we had Roy Keane, Bryan Robson when we first came through, Paul Ince, even like the Vieiras, Petits.
“Declan is a brilliant player, and I think he will do, but when you talk about leaders at Arsenal, Declan isn’t quite at that point yet, Martin Zubimendi isn’t at that point yet, and Gabriel is too emotional.”
Rice was seen motivating his Arsenal teammates after the full-time whistle on Sunday, telling them it’s not over yet.
So, Scholes’ comments do feel quite harsh and they could come back to bite him if the Gunners manage to win the title, which is still very possible.
Everyone’s expecting Manchester City to win their game in hand against Burnley on Wednesday, but there’s no guarantee in this league.
A telling few days lie ahead for the North Londoners.
