High-profile Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has praised the club for getting the better of one of their Premier League rivals. 

Only three games of the 2025/26 Premier League season have been played so far, with the action set to resume for Arsenal on Saturday lunchtime. 

The Gunners welcome Nottingham Forest to the Emirates, with all eyes on Mikel Arteta’s team selection following the 1-0 defeat at Anfield. 

It remains to be seen whether Eberechi Eze will be handed his full debut; however, another attacker’s place in the starting XI is guaranteed.

Piers Morgan says Arsenal got the better of Chelsea with Noni Madueke transfer

Noni Madueke shone on international duty for England, scoring his first goal for the Three Lions in the 5-0 win over Serbia. 

The winger’s transfer from Chelsea to Arsenal was highly disputed in the summer by some fans, something that has clearly driven the Englishman to prove doubters wrong. 

Declan Rice didn’t like the negative discourse around Madueke’s transfer, but for the player, he’s already leaving his critics red-faced. 

The latest to comment on Madueke’s move to Arsenal was Piers Morgan, who, after England’s 5-0 win, took to X to take a jab at Chelsea.

“Chelsea massively dropped the ball letting us sign Madueke. He’s a…baller,” Morgan said.

Madueke is working tirelessly behind the scenes to make a name for himself at Arsenal, something he has the opportunity to do amid Bukayo Saka’s layoff through injury.

Madueke’s international break in numbers

Arteta isn’t afraid to play Madueke on the left, but over the international break, it’s become clearer than ever that the Englishman is best utilised on the right.

The 23-year-old is already showing why Arsenal were adamant about signing him in the summer from Chelsea, with some wondering if the Blues will live to regret handing their rivals the talent. 

In England’s games against Andorra and Serbia, Madueke shone bright, scoring, assisting and being an all-round nuisance on the right side.

The summer signing has certainly given Arteta some food for thought, with his fearless edge for the Three Lions being something that could really add a fresh dimension to Arsenal’s front line.

It will be fascinating to see how the Arsenal manager combats the selection headache on the right side when Saka returns, as right now, it’s all about Madueke.
