Arsenal continued their perfect start to pre-season with a win over Newcastle at the weekend.

Arsenal beat the Magpies 3-2 on Sunday, and, once again, the man of the hour was Max Dowman.

Dowman impressed fans with his performance against Newcastle, winning a crucial penalty for the Gunners during the game.

Dowman also impressed against AC Milan last week.

At the age of just 15, this young man looks like the real deal.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Adrian Clarke has been discussing Dowman’s performance vs Newcastle, and he says that he was taken aback by just how fast the youngster was, particularly on the ball.

Max Dowman is exceptionally fast

Clarke spoke about Dowman and his ability to dribble with the ball.

The pundit says that he was really taken aback by how fast Dowman was on the ball, claiming that his pace was nothing short of exceptional.

“What really struck me about the run was the speed. I don’t want to get too excited here, and I don’t want to put him on a pedestal that is unfair, but the way he runs with the ball, the speed that he runs with the ball, it’s nothing short of exceptional and it makes him very, very difficult to stop,” Clarke said.

Max Dowman can’t become Arsenal’s youngest-ever player

At the age of just 15, Dowman is making history with his performances in pre-season.

As scary as it sounds, this young man may well be working his way into Mikel Arteta’s plans, but, remarkably, he won’t break the record of being Arsenal’s youngest ever player.

Arsenal’s youngest ever playersAge at debut
Ethan Nwaneri15 yr 181 days
Jack Porter16 yr 72 days
Cesc Fabregas16 yr 177 days
Jack Wilshere16 yr 256 days
Jermaine Pennant16 yr 319 days

Ethan Nwaneri set the record as the youngest Arsenal player ever, making his Premier League debut at 15 years and 181 days, and Dowman is already older than that.

The midfielder could well become Arsenal’s second-youngest ever player this season, as Mikel Arteta has shown that he’s not afraid to throw youngsters in at the deep end just as he did with Nwaneri a few years ago.
