When it comes to scoring in the Premier League, there are very few currently in the division better than Sterling.
To be precise, there are only two scorers with a better record in the English top flight than the Arsenal target.
Only Mohamed Salah and Jamie Vardy top Sterling in the list of top scorers in the Premier League based on active players.
| Rank | Player | Goals |
| 1 | Mohamed Salah | 159 |
| 2 | Jamie Vardy | 137 |
| 3 | Raheem Sterling | 123 |
| 4 | Son Heung-min | 122 |
| 5 | Callum Wilson | 88 |
| 6 | Marcus Rashford | 83 |
| 7 | Gabriel Jesus | 73 |
| 8 | Danny Ings | 71 |
| 9 | Chris Wood | 70 |
| 10 | Kevin De Bruyne | 69 |
Sitting in third with 123 Premier League goals so far, Sterling falls short to only Salah (159) and Vardy (137) however, is being closely tailed by Spurs’ Son Heung-Min, who has 122.
The record portrays the calibre of player that Arsenal can now add to their ranks on Deadline Day, with Sterling offering experience of playing in the top flight that very few can.
Sterling can give Arsenal a unique lead on Manchester City
In their quest to chase down the monster that is Manchester City, Arsenal need all the help they can get to usurp Guardiola’s machine.
Sterling’s scoring record places him way above any current player at the Etihad, with Kevin De Bruyne coming closest to the Englishman with his record of 69 goals.
Having another player who has had a taste of winning four Premier League titles in the squad is only positive for Arteta’s project.
The pair worked closely together at Manchester City, with the hope there that they can now combine to bring down their former club and hand Arsenal their first Premier League title in 21 years.
