For Arsenal, it’s an opportunity to make it even deeper into the competition and ease some pressure on Mikel Arteta to deliver some silverware this season.
Standing in their way is Crystal Palace, who have taken some of their momentum in the EFL cup back into their recent league form.

Arsenal injury update
Declan Rice
Declan Rice was substituted early against Everton through injury, with the midfielder suffering from an issue that meant he couldn’t continue.
That put some doubt over the availability of the England international, though there was some positive news ahead of the clash with Crystal Palace.
Arteta confirmed that Rice is fit for the EFL Cup quarter-final, though there was no confirmation over whether he will play or be rested.
He told the press on Rice: “He’s [Declan Rice] fine. We will make the decision on whether he’s available or not.”
Riccardo Calafiori
Riccardo Calafiori has been injured for the past few games, missing out on some key clashes after only just recovering from a previous issue he had.
Arteta confirmed that the Italian international isn’t fit enough to face off with Crystal Palace in midweek, which is coming as a blow to the team.
It’s unclear when Calafiori will return to action, with another match against the Eagles around the corner over the weekend.

Oleksandr Zinchenko
Defender Oleksandr Zinchenko has also been out of action over the past few weeks, with the left-back suffering another injury.
Arteta confirmed the Ukrainian international won’t be available for selection in the EFL Cup in midweek, with no further update on his condition.
Takehiro Tomiyasu
Suffering another long-term setback, Takehiro Tomiyasu is on the sidelines yet again for Arsenal as he looks to recover.
The right-back is spending time away from the club to help him reach full fitness again, hopeful it will be see him bounce back again.
Ben White
After undergoing surgery to help deal with a long-running injury, Ben White is expected to be missing for a few months.
Recovery should see him return in the New Year, with the defender ideally having a clean run free of injuries.
