Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs is one of the greatest footballers of all time.

The Welshman produced several iconic moments over the course of his career, including a few against Arsenal when he faced them.

Giggs is now upset that football has become very robotic. He feels that players aren’t as expressive as they were back in his time.

However, there are a few exceptions, and Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is one of them.

Ryan Giggs says Arsenal star Martin Odegaard excites him

Odegaard is one of the best players in the Premier League.

The Norwegian, on his day, is a joy to watch because of his ability to unlock stubborn defences. His vision is world-class, and he has produced several exceptional moments in the famous red and white.

Odegaard is often among the best chance creators in the Premier League and is one of a few players in the division now who remind you of the olden days.

Giggs, who played with exciting players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani, Wayne Rooney and even Gareth Bale back in the day, has expressed his admiration for Odegaard.

After highlighting the flaws of today’s game that he doesn’t like, the Manchester United icon told BBC Sport: “You don’t like to go back to your time, but it does look a bit strangled with certain quality players.

“There are some, like Josh King at Fulham, and Martin Odegaard, who get me excited as well, so it is not everyone.

“But yes, from when I first started, I think it is a bit more robotic, with the patterns of play and more defensive-minded teams.”

Martin Odegaard’s injury is a massive blow for Arsenal

Odegaard has been extremely unlucky with injuries this season.

The 26-year-old hurt his shoulder in the game against Leeds United and then suffered another injury in the same place in his next Premier League start.

Odegaard claimed that such an issue had never happened to him before, but things got worse for the Arsenal captain a few weeks later.

Against West Ham, the £30 million man suffered a knee injury and had to be replaced.

Arsenal have since confirmed that it is an MCL injury for Odegaard, who is now expected to be out until after the November international break.

That is a massive blow for the Gunners, who will now need Eberechi Eze to step up in the number 10 role.
