Sandro Tonali has been telling people behind the scenes at Newcastle United that he is very happy at St James’ Park and is not thinking about a move to Arsenal.
Arsenal were offered Tonali on transfer deadline day; however, nothing came of the Gunners’ talks on the final day of the window.

Newcastle were adamant that nothing happened with Tonali on deadline day and were quick to shut down speculation of the Italian leaving.
In the summer, Tonali and Arsenal could become a hot topic for discussion, but right now, the midfielder is fully focused on Newcastle.
Sandro Tonali makes stance on Arsenal move clear
Despite Sandro Tonali making it clear that he is happy at Newcastle United, the effects of the 25-year-old being offered to Arsenal on deadline day are set to carry on into the summer.
Luke Edwards claims that whilst the player remains committed to the Magpies, his long-term future on Tyneside is no longer clear.
Speaking about the move, Eddie Howe said Tonali wanted to stay at Newcastle on deadline day, but it’s clear that something is building ahead of the summer window.
The Toon still have much to play for this season, as they are in the Champions League knockout stages, the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup and fighting for Europe in the Premier League.
What is the maximum fee Arsenal should pay to sign Sandro Tonali?
Newcastle need Tonali to be fully focused on them for the rest of the season, and the midfielder has made it clear that is the case. For now, at least.
Next summer, a move for the player will not be cheap, as Newcastle value Tonali at over £80m, having paid £55m to sign him from AC Milan in 2023.
Sandro Tonali’s agents are causing confusion
There is some confusion as to which of Tonali’s agents holds the most power over his future, and who offered him to Arsenal, David Ornstein reports.
“It became abundantly clear that Sandro Tonali’s agent, there has been some conjecture over how many agents he has and who holds the real power within his stable of representatives, had offered him to Arsenal,” Ornstein revealed.
On deadline day, Andrea Berta looked into the possibility of signing a player who has been historically linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
“I presume that goes into the sporting director Andrea Berta. It’s then his job to explore opportunities and establish viability, especially when it’s a player of interest, and Sandro Tonali, as we’ve reported historically, is a player that Mikel Arteta and Arsenal like.
“Therefore, they looked into it. That’s no great surprise when they looked into it. Then it was made clear that there was absolutely no possibility.”
