Mikel Arteta has now committed his future to Arsenal.

With Mikel Arteta’s future at the Emirates Stadium now assured, Arsenal will be looking to reach new heights.

Arteta has shared his ambitions for Arsenal now that he has penned a new deal. The aim for the North London club is clear, with major silverware now in their sights.

The Spanish coach’s new contract will keep him at the club for the next three years. Arsenal fans celebrated the announcement, and many thoughts will now naturally turn to what the manager has achieved so far.

Arteta has made Arsenal genuine contenders again, and has imprinted himself upon the club. His squad has been built in his own image, plays with his style, and conforms to his values.

Mikel Arteta tipped to take Arsenal to title

talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan believes that Arsenal have made a wise move in extending Arteta’s stay at the club.

He said: “My first impressions of him were very positive. I thought he had the ability to do the things he was laying out.

“If you look at a lot of the things that he laid out in that initial interview, he has done a lot of them. Engaging the fans… Culturally he changed certain people’s perspectives in the club… He is clearly a top manager.

“I think there is much more about Mikel Arteta that indicates he’s on the trajectory for success rather than the other way around. I think he is very articulate, and is clearly an enigmatic, charismatic character.

“I do expect Arsenal to really have a full tilt at the title this year… I’ve tipped them to win the Premier League.”

Can Arsenal win the Premier League this season?

Jordan is not the only one who thinks that the Gunners have got what it takes to go all the way this season. Gary Neville has backed Arsenal to be crowned champions, too.

However, if Arteta’s side are to beat the Cityzens to the title this season then they will have to produce remarkable consistency. Many will still have the reigning champions down as favourites to retain their crown.

The Gunners may already be looking to potential successes beyond this season, though. Arsenal will be aware of fears at Manchester City, where anxiety is growing that Pep Guardiola could spark an exodus of key figures upon his own departure.
