The 50-year-old came through the academy ranks at Tottenham before moving into the first-team, featuring for them over nine years.

The theme of it surrounded switching to better, with plenty of hints towards his infamous move from Spurs to Arsenal.

“It’s that time of year again,” the former defender starts off. “A time when people start to wonder if the grass might be greener.

“Whether they should switch sides and change allegiances. Take it from me, big moves pay off,” he says while switching from a white jumper to a red one in an obvious nod to the move from Tottenham to Arsenal.

“Sure, people will have opinions but who cares what people think. Of course you can stay with them another year but is anything really going to change?

“Doesn’t look like it to me. So if you’re thinking about transferring this January, I say go for it! It’s not like you’re doing anything outrageous.”

It’s certainly a moment that divides the North London clubs, with plenty of legacy split for Campbell between them.

Why Sol Campbell made Arsenal transfer from Tottenham

One of the main questions surrounds why Campbell decided to burn bridges at his first club to join Arsenal.

The defender revealed all in a recent interview with the Mirror, where he detailed the decision at the time.

“It was a move by a young man who wanted to win,” he stated. “I wanted to win football games, I wanted to win championships, I wanted to see how far I could push my country, to see if I could win something for my country.

“Everywhere I’ve played I’ve tried my best, wanted to win and I knew my time was running out and I had to think about what was the best possible chance of winning and joining a team which I can enhance.

“Sometimes if you’re in a team which only has four or five players then it’s hard work if you want to win anything. You need nine, 10, maybe 11 and then two or three on the bench who can make a difference.

“I’d never had that before and I wanted to be in the best environment. Arsenal’s training ground was second to none and Highbury was beautiful, historic ground, the pitch was always amazing.”

It was a moment that shook the North London rivalry, with the two teams still feeling the impact of it all these years later.
