Arsenal are preparing to travel to Goodison Park in search of another three points in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta’s side will have one eye on their Champions League quarter final with Real Madrid but will be aware of not wanting to get dragged back into a tussle for the top four spots in the league.

Arsenal’s injury crisis this season has worsened in recent days with the news that Gabriel Magalhaes is out for the season, whilst there are also doubts over Jurrien Timber and Ben White.

It has been a challenging season for Arsenal and one Gunners legend believes that Arteta should only be judged after one key change has occurred at the club.

Sol Campbell believes judgement on Mikel Arteta needs to be reserved

As per the Mirror, former defender Sol Campbell believes that judgement on Arteta as Gunners boss should be reserved until after a world class striker has been signed by the club.

Campbell stated: “Once he has his whole team, and then judge him after that. You cannot judge him at the moment, he has brought the club on such an incredible journey and has just missed out a couple of times by a whisker.

“It’s tiny margins. Get a forward in, a couple of really decent players in and allow them the space to bed in and then see what happens after that.”

Andrea Berta is a fan of Viktor Gyokeres and the Swedish international could be the man that the club bring in during what will prove to be a busy summer at the Emirates Stadium.

Viktor Gyokeres a risk at Premier League level

Whilst there is no doubting the numbers that Gyokeres has posted over his last two seasons at Sporting, the striker is yet to play a minute of Premier League football.

Nani believes Gyokeres has matured and his ball striking and physical presence are attributes that Arteta likes to have within his centre forwards.

With almost a goal a game in Portugal, Gyokeres knows where the back of the net is but the worry from some Arsenal supporters is the lack of space he will get in England’s top flight.

The Gunners are prepared to take that risk it seems and whether it will be the right decision is down to Gyokeres and Arteta’s ability to get the best out of him/
