Bukayo Saka makes amends with Robert Pires

Arsenal legend Roberto Pires got himself into hot water recently as he shockingly claimed that Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku had more to his game than Bukayo Saka.

“For example, in my opinion Jeremy Doku from Manchester City is a bit better because he is technically stronger, has better dribbling skills and is more imaginative,” Pires stated.

With Saka excelling for Arsenal, this was a truly remarkable statement, and one which Arsenal fans strongly disagreed with.

Saka produced a magnificent performance to beat Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, and Frenchman Pires was in attendance at the Emirates Stadium.

There was clearly no bad blood between the pair, as Saka posted a picture with the former Arsenal number seven, hinting that they had cleared the air.

Mikel Merino praises Mikel Arteta after Arsenal debut

Arsenal summer signing Mikel Merino finally made his long-awaited debut against PSG, after picking up an injury in his first training session.

Fans were delighted with what they saw from Merino, as he delivered an impressive performance in a second-half cameo.

Speaking after the game, Merino admitted that Mikel Arteta has introduced things at Arsenal he had never seen before.

“They do some things that I’ve never seen in my career, their methods they use are completely new to me,” he stated.

“When you get it, you are at a different level. They challenge you every single day physically and mentally and that makes you sharp.

“There’s no rest between one moment and the other, they always challenge you mentally with different stimulus. It makes you always aware.”

Ian Wright wants Ethan Nwaneri to start in the Premier League

Youngster Ethan Nwaneri has been making waves as he begins his breakthrough into the Arsenal first-team, but he was an unused substitute against PSG.

This came after he produced an outstanding performance off the bench to help Arsenal beat Leicester, and club legend Ian Wright wants him to start the next game against Southampton.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if Ethan Nwaneri started that game. It’s looking exciting,” Wright said on the Wrighty’s House podcast.
