Arsenal are working hard to maximise this summer’s transfer window.

Thomas Partey will leave Arsenal after spending five years in North London and has swiftly been replaced with the club set to announce the signings of Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard imminently.

Andrea Berta needs to be ‘creative’ to sell Oleksandr Zinchenko as the Ukrainian defender joins a list of players the sporting director is looking to move on permanently.

Arsenal fans are divided over Takehiro Tomiyasu’s departure after the club have officially confirmed they have mutually agreed to terminate his contract. The Japanese international’s love for the Gunners has shone through in a heartfelt message.

Takehiro Tomiyasu thanks Mikel Arteta and fans upon leaving Arsenal

Taking to Instagram, Gunners defender Tomiyasu has thanked the club’s supporters and manager Mikel Arteta upon leaving North London.

Tomiyasu wrote: “After 4 unforgettable years, the time has come for me to say goodbye to this incredible club. Obviously, I have got many things to say, but the thing that I want to tell you guys the most is just thank you for the love you guys gave me.

“I was so happy to be here with my teammates, Mikel, the coaching staff, supporting staff, everyone who was around me in this club.

“From my first day at the Emirates to every moment wearing the red and white, it has truly been an honor to represent this badge.

“To the supporters, thank you for the love you’ve been giving me on and off the pitch. I will never forget it, and it will stay in me forever. To the teammates, I’m so happy that we’ve shared many memories with you guys, because I know how good you guys are, not only as a player but as a person.

“I’m looking forward to seeing each of you guys ON the pitch soon. It’s time for a new chapter, but I’m forever proud to have been a Gunner. Once a Gunner, always a Gunner. ARIGATO and all the best, Tomi.”

Takehiro Tomiyasu departure could open up double Arsenal defender swoop

With the departure of the Japanese defender, Berta could now make a double defensive swoop to bolster Arteta’s options.

Cristhian Mosquera wants to join Arsenal and the club are in talks with Valencia over a suitable fee for the young centre back.

Arsenal are interested in Jorrel Hato and following Tomiyasu’s unexpected departure, there may now be scope for the Gunners to pursue one of their long-term targets.

As for Tomiyasu, he leaves the Emirates Stadium having given his all for the red and white shirt and has the best wishes of every supporter for his future endeavours. Thank you Tomi.
