Mikel Arteta has a host of talent on his hands at Arsenal, with one up there with the best according to Tony Cascarino.
It’s been a stellar start to the season at the Emirates, as Arsenal remain unbeaten in all competitions.
The Gunners sit just one point off the top of the Premier League table, seeing the campaign begin as hoped for Arteta’s side.
Since the 2022/23 campaign, it’s been quite the resurgence at Arsenal, as the North Londoners continue to declare themselves as challengers for the league title.
Arsenal told Martin Odegaard ‘can match’ Kevin De Bruyne
Arteta will rightfully take the credit for Arsenal’s claim to the Premier League title race however, the manager has been helped greatly by the talent in his squad at present.
One of the shining lights behind the Gunners’ progression is club captain Martin Odegaard, who is currently nursing an ankle injury.
Despite not letting standards slip, Arsenal have been made aware of the midfielder’s importance, with the 25-year-old’s creative influence absent as a result of his injury.
The Norweigan is arguably the best playmaker in Arteta’s squad, with Tony Cascarino dubbing Odegaard one of ‘the best’ in the Premier League when on the ball.
“Odegaard is the best mover and passer of the ball apart from Kevin De Bruyne I’d say,” Cascarino said on talkSPORT [14/10/24 8.37am].
The former Chelsea forward then went on to share his opinion that Odegaard is around the same level as the Manchester City star.
“He’s up there, he’s nearly as good. At his best, he can match De Bruyne.”

There are few creators in the world as impactful as De Bruyne although, by Cascarino’s admission, Odegaard is incredibly close to the Belgian.
The Man City phenomenon has eight years on the Arsenal captain, paving the way for the Norway international to take his crown as his game develops in the next stages of his career.
Odegaard set for November return from injury
Arsenal have managed to cope with Odegaard in terms of churning out results however, the captain’s presence going forward is irreplaceable.
Arteta was handed a blow in September when the midfielder was hurt on international duty, with Odegaard not featuring for the Gunners since late August as a result.
Despite concerns over a possible setback, it’s understood that the playmaker will return to action during November.
November is set to be a blockbuster month for Arsenal, who face Champions League battles against Inter Milan and Sporting CP, as well as Premier League showdowns with Newcastle United, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest and West Ham.
It could be a decisive month when it comes to the Gunners’ title hopes, emphasising the importance of Odegaard returning to the action when his side need him most.
