‘That’s impressive’: Thomas Frank praises Arsenal for one thing ahead of Brentford clash

Arsenal are set to face Brentford tomorrow as they aim to continue their fine form in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta’s side can go top of the league, at least temporarily, ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Manchester City on Sunday.

Arsenal have scored a Premier League record 31 goals in the last seven matches, and with Brentford struggling with injuries and poor form, another heavy victory could be on the cards.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has now praised Arsenal, and has also admitted his shock at just how good Arteta’s side have been recently.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Frank claimed that Arsenal have improved since last season, given their incredible form now.

“No. I don’t think so,” he stated when asked if there is a harder team to face than Arsenal right now.

“I think form wise, momentum then they are right up there. It’s clear it’s Arsenal, [Man] City, Liverpool ahead of the rest and right now, maybe Arsenal are performing to their absolute maximum.

“I’ve stopped counting the goals they’ve scored. (31 in the last seven). That’s more than 4 per game isn’t it? Oh wow. That’s impressive,” he added.

“They deserve a lot to praise, [Mikel] Arteta, the coaching staff and the players – They have clearly improved from last year, I don’t know exactly how you do that. They managed to have an ok first part of the season, but they look so much stronger now.”

Arsenal cannot be complacent in Brentford clash

Although all signs point towards a comfortable victory, Arsenal would do themselves a disservice by underestimating this Brentford side.

Arsenal drew 1-1 at home to Brentford last season in a shock result in the title race, and given how tight the margins are right now, a repeat result would be a disaster.

They should make some changes, with Jorginho perhaps rested for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Porto, but Arsenal need to continue their recent outstanding form and score early to ensure a win.

Brentford do carry threats, such as reported Arsenal target Ivan Toney, and they could provide a threat to Aaron Ramsdale, who will come back in for David Raya, through their set pieces.

If Arsenal can continue their goalscoring form, which has seen them demolish teams this year, it will set them up nicely for their next league game, which will come at the Etihad Stadium after the International break.
