Chido Obi-Martin has left Arsenal, and a few details about the offers he received from the Gunners and Manchester United have now emerged.
The 16-year-old is one of the brightest young talents in Europe at the moment. He is an unbelievable young player and has immense potential.
Obi-Martin had a very impressive season for the Arsenal academy sides in the 2023/24 season. He scored 32 goals in 18 appearances in the U18 Premier League, which is an outrageous return.
Several clubs started following Obi-Martin, and despite Arsenal’s best efforts, the Gunners failed to secure his future.

How much Arsenal and Manchester United offered Chido Obi-Martin in wages
Arsenal were really keen to keep hold of Obi-Martin.
The Gunners have done a magnificent job with their youth setup in recent years. A number of excellent young players have come through the ranks.
Obi-Martin looked destined to be a star for Arsenal, but he decided against staying.
Reports have revealed that Obi-Martin could be joining Manchester United soon having visited their training ground recently.
It has been claimed that Arsenal asked Obi-Martin to leave after he rejected their offer and demanded better terms to commit his future.
Now, the editor of All Nigeria Soccer, who was among the first to break the news that Obi-Martin had decided to leave Arsenal, has shed some more light on the situation.
The account has revealed that Arsenal offered the 16-year-old eye-watering wages of £15,000-a-week, but were not ready to go beyond that figure.
Obi-Martin’s representatives demanded more, and Manchester United have apparently doubled Arsenal’s offer – so £30,000-a-week – to sign him.
That appears to have convinced the youngster and his representatives to leave Arsenal and head to Manchester United.

What Obi-Martin should learn from Bukayo Saka
Bukayo Saka is arguably the biggest talent Arsenal’s academy has produced over the last decade, if not more.
The Englishman burst onto the scene as a teenager and quickly became one of the Gunners’ most important players.
There was a point when Saka’s future was up in the air too, and almost every club in the world would’ve been ready to sign him if he had become available.
However, in the summer of 2020, the Gunners and England starboy penned a new contract. Saka only earned £30,000-a-week wages from that deal and that didn’t change until he signed his latest contract in 2023.
Obi-Martin should look at how Saka proved himself first before demanding outrageous money. That’s why he is adored by everyone.
It remains to be seen if Obi-Martin will go on to reach the heights that Saka has done for club and country over the last few years.
