Theo Walcott doubts that Arsenal will get close to a record they broke last season, which is actually good news.
The Arsenal icon has been watching his former club closely this season, drawing up some predictions for the campaign ahead.
Walcott believes Arsenal can win the Champions League, and after the Gunners’ win over Crystal Palace, he was thinking about how the Premier League season could go.
Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Palace was hard-fought and earned Mikel Arteta’s side their fourth consecutive league victory, which had many talking about the title race.

Theo Walcott doesn’t think Arsenal will draw as many games this season
Walcott was on media duties for BBC Match of the Day 2 on matchday nine, where he spoke highly of Arsenal’s victory after yet another clean sheet.
“It’s starting to now be normal that they don’t concede goals,” Walcott said before predicting that the Gunners won’t make the same mistake as last season.
“They will have a bad patch, and last year it was too many draws, but I don’t think that’s going to happen this year.”
Arsenal dropped seven points from draws last term, something that was extremely costly and denied Arteta in his third attempt at winning the Premier League.
A lot of change is noticeable from the Arsenal squad already this season, one of which is how no game is left to chance.
Arsenal broke a record with their draws last season
Arsenal had a problem with draws last season, as seen by it only taking the Gunners until December to surpass their draw tally of 2023/24.
Arteta watched his side break a club record, as Arsenal ended the season with 14 draws in the Premier League, the most since the 2003/04 Invincibles campaign.
| Wins | Draws | Losses |
| 20 | 14 | 4 |
Each point dropped was costly, but this term, it’s clear that the players are learning from their past mistakes.
Last season, Arsenal dropped points to Newcastle, Fulham and Crystal Palace, three games they’ve faced already this season, and three games they’ve won.
It’s no surprise that Arteta was beaming after his side’s lacklustre win over the Eagles, with everything looking like it’s taking shape at the Emirates right now.
