Arsenal cult hero Theo Walcott has spoken about something the Gunners have done this summer that he suggested “isn’t normal”.
The Gunners started the Premier League season strongly enough, with two wins from their opening two games.
However, Arsenal have gone into the international break on the back of a 1-0 loss to Liverpool, which clearly shows there’s much more work to do.
Theo Walcott spoke on the latest episode of the It’s Called Soccer! podcast as he commented on the two teams in action at Anfield on Sunday.

Theo Walcott says Arsenal’s spending this summer ‘isn’t normal’
Walcott spoke of Liverpool’s huge outlay in the summer transfer window, twice breaking the British transfer record.
He also touched upon Arsenal making big moves in the market, which he felt Liverpool might have deemed unusual.
Walcott went on to note how, despite Arsenal’s busy window, they still failed to get the right result in Sunday’s big game.
He said of Liverpool: “It’s a really changing dynamic, football now, and the money, scale and everything involved.
“And it’s just the fact when you win the league, ‘how can we go that one more now?'”
“‘What can we do to now improve the squad to how good it actually is already?’ That’s a sign of a team who ain’t ever going to stand still.
“And as well, Arsenal spent over £300million. In their eyes, I think we’ve done something that – this isn’t normal as well, and we still can’t get results we need in the big games.
“In the big games is where the difference happens when you spend this amount of money on certain players because they’re meant to stand out.”

The main issue Arsenal need to sort out in the transfer market
Arsenal have done very well on the incomings front, signing a host of brilliant – and much-needed – players like Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze and Martin Zubimendi.
However, one thing the Gunners really need to improve on is on the outgoings front.
While Liverpool have spent over £400million in the summer window, they recouped £187million from player sales, as per BBC Sport.
Meanwhile, Arsenal received just £9million from their player sales, giving them a net spend higher than that of Liverpool.
Indeed, only Everton (£3.5million) and Leeds United (£7million) have recouped less from player sales than Arsenal.
