Thierry Henry and Raheem Sterling send message to Kevin De Bruyne

Jamie O’Hara urged Arsenal to sign Kevin De Bruyne following his departure from Manchester City and the Belgian midfielder bid farewell to his home crowd during the Premier League clash with Bournemouth.

De Bruyne was given a ceremonious send-off after the game which included messages from past team mates and coaches.

Henry worked with De Bruyne for the Belgian national team and stated: “Just to congratulate you on your career at Man City. I had the chance to coach you, and I’ve said so many times – one of, if not the most clever player I’ve ever managed… One thing is for sure, I would have LOVED to play with you!”

Sterling was De Bruyne’s teammate at Manchester City for seven years and arrived at the same time as the £55m midfielder- he also had a farewell message for the 33-year-old.

Arsenal winger Sterling said: “Yes Kevlar it’s Raheem here. Just wanted to send you a message and a little bit of love. Obviously arriving to the club at the same time, same summer, we spent a lot of time together, our families together and I know how much of a wonderful person you are,

“Top guy. Don’t say much but when he does you know, it’s normally funny but over the last ten years at City, what you’ve achieved is quite incredible, how you’ve led the team.”

Oleksandr Zinchenko also sends message to Kevin De Bruyne

Oleksandr Zinchenko also played with De Bruyne at City under Pep Guardiola and took to social media to send a message to Belgian playmaker.

Zinchenko wrote on his Instagram story: ” What a legend Kevin De Bruyne.”

The Ukrainian is expected to leave North London this summer but Arsenal may struggle to sell Zinchenko due to his high wage demands.

The defender has made 90 appearances for the Gunners so far and could be set for his final farewell when Mikel Arteta’s side travel to Southampton for the final game of the season.
