Thierry Henry fires ‘change’ warning at Mikel Arteta in Arsenal title prediction

Former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry has told Mikel Arteta that things have to change if the club want to win the Premier League title this season.

It comes as the Gunners have struggled to keep up with the pace of rivals Liverpool and Chelsea in the first half of the campaign.

Back-to-back draws have stifled Arsenal and their hopes of chasing down the Reds at the top of the Premier League.

Open-play goals have been a rarity for Mikel Arteta as of late, with predictability in attack causing plenty of problems.

It has led to Thierry Henry calling for some big change in the team if they are to battle for the title this season.

Thierry Henry discusses Arsenal’s Premier League title chances

As the halfway point of the Premier League season nears, Arsenal will need to turn around their form quickly to give them a shot at winning the title.

It’s something that Henry discussed when asked about their chances at the top, calling on the side to be a little bit more like Liverpool.

The Arsenal legend said on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football: “A lot of things need to change in order to win the Premier League and it’s in the title, you said winning the Premier League.

“When I see Liverpool play, it looks like they’re trying to win it. I see other teams play, they look like ‘Let’s not lose it’ in a sort of speak.”

It’s something that can perhaps be best summed up by how the two teams have responded to red card setbacks this campaign.

While Arsenal have often retreated when being reduced to ten men, Liverpool were able to attack and could’ve perhaps won against Fulham in their recent encounter.

It shows a stark difference in mentality, one that may have to shift for Arteta and his players in the weeks ahead.

Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League title by supercomputer

A difficult start to the campaign for Arsenal may only be lightened by the form of Manchester City, who have opened up the race for the title.

However, even with half of the season left, the odds are very heavily in the favour of the current leaders Liverpool.

It shows how firmly the odds are against Arsenal, though they aren’t completely out of the race yet.

The Gunners will need to be near-perfect from here on out though, requiring a bit of luck along the way as well if they are to win.
