Arsenal are preparing to get back to domestic matters following their excellent European exploits in Eindhoven.

Arsenal thumped PSV 7-1 at the Philips Stadion and now face a tougher test in the Premier League as they travel to old rivals Manchester United.

Ian Wright agrees with Roy Keane’s prediction that Arsenal will edge the encounter however, it will be interesting to see if Mikel Arteta does rotate his team following their Champions League triumph.

Mikel Merino is expected to continue up front in the Arsenal predicted XI but there are Hale End academy options available across the squad, with some even spotted in training ahead of the match.

Arsenal academy stars spotted in first-team training ahead of Man Utd clash

Arsenal are preparing for their visit to Old Trafford and Arteta has an incredible record against Manchester United, where his side are searching for their sixth straight league victory.

Ahead of the game, academy players Tommy Setford, Michal Rosiak and Josh Nichols have all training with the Arsenal first-team squad.

The session was held at the Emirates Stadium and would have provided the youngsters with great experience of playing at the ground and with established first-team stars.

Whether any of them make Arteta’s matchday squad remains to be seen but it is another example of Arteta showing a pathway for academy products.

Mikel Arteta trusts Arsenal’s academy products

Speaking at his pre match press conference ahead of Manchester United v Arsenal, Arteta spoke about the club producing academy prospects ready for the first team such as Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Arteta stated: “I don’t know what the perception is outside, but internally no. The reality is very different because there are those players [Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri] are with us. I guarantee you that if there is a player that can help and impact the first team, they will be with us.”

Arteta stated it was ‘unfortunate’ to lose Chido Obi-Martin but that the club are always willing to promote their youth products and that has been shown to great effect this season.

The Gunners Hale End academy is vastly becoming one of the best in world football and will continue to provide talent for Arteta to use at his disposal.
