Arsenal fans making their way to Italy for Wednesday evening’s Champions League clash with Inter Milan will want to know about the ban they will face.
Arsenal will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to this season’s Champions League campaign at the San Siro.
The Gunners certainly need a boost, having been beaten by Newcastle United last time out in the Premier League, a result that did significant damage to their hopes of winning the title.
Confidence is low in the Arsenal dressing room at the moment, but victory over the Italian giants would give fans a lift and help to get things back on track.
Alcohol banned for Inter Milan vs Arsenal
Many Arsenal supporters planning to make the trip to Milan, though, will be frustrated to learn that their ability to drink alcohol at and around the game will be severely restricted.
As reported by FC Inter 1908, the Prefecture of Milan, a local governing body, has banned the sale and serving of alcoholic beverages during the build-up to and aftermath of this Champions League showdown.
This ban will be in force in the Centro, Darsena, Sempione and Navigli areas on Wednesday from 8am to 8pm.
The ban will also be in effect in San Siro and the surrounding areas from 12pm until midnight.
Why Arsenal fans won’t be able to drink alcohol on Champions League trip
This ban has been introduced as a measure taken in an attempt to prevent any fan trouble or violence.
Arsenal fans would be wise to respect this ruling for their own security and safety.
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s full focus will be on matters set to take place on the pitch. Arsenal received a warning from Manchester City fans about Inter Milan, after the Serie A outfit produced an extremely defensive low-block against the reigning Premier League champions.
Pep Guardiola’s side couldn’t overcome this hurdle and were held to a 0-0 draw back in September. The Gunners will be looking to outdo their domestic rivals and record a win at the San Siro.
Such a result would certainly cheer up any Arsenal fans dismayed by the alcohol ban in the city.
