Two Arsenal players have now been ranked in the top ten most valuable footballers on the planet.

Mikel Arteta has been nothing short of incredible over the last few years in his squad building at Arsenal, with the Basque coach constructing one of the youngest teams in the Premier League as well as one of the best.

The Gunners fell just two points off the Premier League title this season with Arteta also leading Arsenal to their first UEFA Champions League quarter-final in nearly 15 years, with the north London side making huge strides.

And two of Arsenal’s star players have now been valued as some of the most expensive in the world.

Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka make CIES’ 10 most valuable players

According to the CIES Football Observatory, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka are two of the ten most valuable players in the world, with Gabriel Martinelli ranked 11th on the 100-player list.

With Declan Rice valued lower than the likes of Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai, though, it will be quite a surprise to many Arsenal fans to see the England international not also ranked in the top ten alongside Odegaard and Saka.

Indeed, despite this valuation, Arsenal players are represented well in the overall list, with the likes of William Saliba and Kai Havertz also ranking in the top 100, as well as Ben White.

And with so many Arsenal stars making the final list, it’s a sign of how far the Gunners have come under Arteta, who now have one of the most valuable squads in all of football.

Arteta deserves huge praise for building this Arsenal squad

Whilst Arteta might just have one FA Cup title to his name as Arsenal manager, there’s no denying that the Basque coach has been a revelation since taking over the reigns in north London in 2019.

And the 42-year-old deserves huge praise for how he’s gone about building this Arsenal squad, which is now one of the most valuable in the world as well as one of the youngest.

Next season could see Arteta finally claim silverware for the fruits of his labour, and the likes of Odegaard and Saka will be desperate to get their hands on a trophy after coming so close this season.
