West Ham star explains why he actually ‘really likes Arsenal’ and rates their title chances

Arsenal are expected to be one of the main contenders for the Premier League title this season, and many are now backing them to triumph over Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta’s side got off to a strong start with a 2-0 victory over Wolves in their opening game of the Premier League season, and they will aim for consistency throughout the season to win a first title since 2004.

Jamie Redknapp has backed Arsenal to win the league if they keep key players fit, whilst Alan Shearer has also highlighted Bukayo Saka as a player who can help spark a title challenge.

Arsenal also have admirers within the Premier League now, as West Ham star Jarrod Bowen has now praised the Gunners, and talked up their title chances this season.

West Ham star Jarrod Bowen expresses admiration for Arsenal

Bowen is a key player for West Ham, and the winger was part of the England squad at Euro 2024 alongside Saka, Declan Rice and Aaron Ramsdale.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he explained why he thinks Arsenal will win a trophy this season, and expressed his admiration for Arteta’s team.

“I really like Arsenal, I think the signings they’ve made as well, and how good they’ve been for two, three years – they obviously have Champions League, FA Cup, they’ve got more opportunities to win, but I think their team’s really good,” he stated.

“Of course Man City have been so good for so many years, Liverpool have been so good for so many years, but I do think Arsenal are coming together at the right time.”

Jarrod Bowen wants Declan Rice to win the Premier League with Arsenal

Bowen played alongside Rice for West Ham before the midfielder made a club-record move to Arsenal last year, and the Englishman has now stated that he wants his former captain to win silverware.

“To see Dec (Rice) win a trophy – it would be nice to see him win a trophy. I’d be really happy for him because I think he deserves it,” he added.

If Arsenal are to win the Premier League this season, they will need Rice to be at his best throughout the campaign, with the 25-year-old now one of the best midfielders in the entire division.
