Arsenal are pushing closer to agreeing a new contract with young star Ethan Nwaneri this summer, as he nears the final year of his deal.
The Gunners have been working hard to seal some long-term agreements within the squad to keep the core together for the future.
Gabriel Magalhaes recently signed a four-year contract extension, taking his stay at the Emirates Stadium until at least 2029.
Beyond him, Arsenal are in talks with Bukayo Saka and William Saliba over new deals, with their current ones expiring in 2027.
Then there’s the case of Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri’s deals, both of which are nearing the final year.
After a breakout campaign from the Hale End academy pair, there is naturally a desire to keep both at Arsenal for the future.
While there have been links and rumours with exits, both Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly appear to be nearing an extension.

Andrea Berta opened contract talks with Ethan Nwaneri immediately at Arsenal
With the impressive rise of both Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri, there has naturally been some interest elsewhere and some concern as to whether Arsenal can keep hold of them.
According to The Mirror, both are nearing contract extensions with “lucrative” pay rises, with a claim that an agreement is now in sight for the two stars.
The report claims that Arsenal had opened talks with Lewis-Skelly earlier in the year, before Andrea Berta made his arrival.
While the new sporting director continued with those talks, he also opened up discussions with Nwaneri as a priority when he first joined the club.
That may well have helped progress talks to where they are now, with plenty of hope that Nwaneri will sign a new deal.
It remains to be seen whether an extension will be signed soon, but it could be a move that saves Arsenal millions in the market.

New Ethan Nwaneri contract could save Arsenal millions on transfers
After a breakout season, Nwaneri’s impressive displays have more than cemented him as a star for the senior side.
While there is plenty of room for progress, the future seems bright for the youngster in the forward line.
It remains to be seen exactly what position he fills, though, with an ability to play on the right wing, as a number ten or as a striker.
Nwaneri’s ability to fill any of those positions actually is an advantage for Arsenal, as it could save them from entering the market.
That, in itself, could end up saving the Gunners millions in the window, allowing them to invest their money elsewhere to strengthen.
