Arsenal are preparing for their blockbuster clash with Manchester United on Wednesday night.

The Gunners beat West Ham 5-2 on match day 13 of the Premier League season, building confidence before facing United.

Mikel Arteta will be eager to outwit Ruben Amorim in their first meeting in the English top-flight, making Wednesday’s clash a real spectacle.

Both squads are full of confidence however, Chris Sutton fancies Arsenal to beat Man United for the reason of individual quality.

Bukayo Saka makes Arsenal vs Man United admission

Bukayo Saka sent a warning to United with his performance against West Ham, scoring and assisting.

Saka matched a 16-year Cesc Fabregas record by scoring and assisting in three consecutive games for Arsenal, something he’ll want to extend when United pay a visit.

Some players have pre-match rituals and Saka is one of them, particularly when it comes to playing against the Red Devils.

Ahead of the meeting between the two sides in May 2024, the Hale End graduate told Sky Sports about his understanding of the fixture.

“The two teams are so big in English history and they have had rivalries for many, many years. Every time I play against them, I understand that,” Saka revealed.

“From growing up – Arsenal fans and Man United fans are always going at each other. I understand it. It is always a big, big game. I always enjoy to play games like this.”

Being a lifelong Arsenal fan and a member of the club’s academy since the age of seven, there are very few more clued up on the rivalry than Saka.

Saka’s record against Man United

The winger will be one figure that Amorim will be studying ahead of kick-off, with Saka being one of the most in-form players right now.

Arteta will rely on the 23-year-old to cause mayhem on the right side, which is something he’s done to Man United in the past.

Bukayo Saka’s record vs Manchester United

In his career, Saka has played against the Red Devils nine times, winning six, drawing once and losing twice when representing Arsenal.

The forward also has an encouraging record of goal contributions against Wednesday’s opponent, scoring three times and assisting twice.

It’s worth noting that the Hale End graduate enjoys getting stuck in against United, made clear by the four yellow cards he’s picked up in the fixture – more than any other club he’s faced.

Saka will, as always, be the focal point of Arsenal’s threat at the Emirates on Wednesday night in what is a must-win for the hosts.
