There were wild scenes at Kenilworth Road as Declan Rice headed in a last-minute winner for Arsenal in a dramatic game against Luton Town.

Arsenal went into half time 2-1 up, but somehow found themselves 3-2 down after two mistakes from David Raya, but fought back to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.

Kai Havertz made it 3-3 after some excellent work from Gabriel Jesus, and Arsenal continued to push forward to find a winner.

Martin Odegaard then found Rice with a cross deep into injury time, and Arsenal’s record signing headed home to secure all three points for Mikel Arteta’s side.

The Arsenal manager was surprisingly booked for over-celebrating, which now means he will not be present on the touchline for Saturday’s match against Aston Villa.

The Spaniard exploded with joy when the ball found its way into the bottom corner of the goal, and emotions clearly got the better of him, as Sky Sports reporter Sam Blitz revealed that he received a warning from the fourth official.

“He’s done it again! Rice won it against Man Utd and now the £105m has scored a priceless goal,” he stated on Sky Sports.

“Arteta went off down the touchline towards the celebrations. The fourth official had to usher him back!

“Raya joined in with the celebrations. What a relieved man he is!”

Arteta has been criticised in the past for his emotional antics on the touchline since he became Arsenal manager.

At times, it has backfired, as his riling up of Jurgen Klopp had an affect on the Anfield crowd as his side were heavily beaten at Liverpool two years ago.

Arteta often feeds off the emotion of the crowd, particularly at the Emirates, and is always an animated figure on the touchline.

His absence will therefore be noticeable at Villa Park on Saturday, as Arsenal face Arteta’s predecessor in Unai Emery.

In Arteta’s defence, it is tough to blame him too much for celebrating a 97th-minute comeback win so passionately, and his behaviour often enamours the Arsenal fans despite what some members of the media may say about the Spaniard.

Arsenal consolidated their position at the top of the Premier League with the victory at Luton, and they will hope to continue their fine form this weekend, as they have now won the last six matches in a row in all competitions.
