Viktor Gyokeres is all set to become a new Arsenal player.
The Sweden international has been on the Gunners’ wish list since the summer transfer window opened, and he became the top target earlier in July.
Arsenal have been frustrated with the way Sporting have negotiated this deal, and that is the reason why it has dragged on.
But, reports have now claimed that a deal has been struck between the two clubs, and the Gyokeres transfer is on the verge of completion.
Myles Lewis-Skelly’s reaction after Viktor Gyokeres to Arsenal news
Arsenal fans have been waiting for the Viktor Gyokeres news for a long time now.
The Swede has been desperate to join the Gunners and has even rejected other clubs to hold out for a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal had scheduled a medical for Gyokeres over the weekend but had to cancel it after an agreement with Sporting could not be reached.
That is now about to change, as both David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano have confirmed that Gyokeres will be on his way to Arsenal very soon.
Fans are absolutely over the moon with the imminent arrival, and the excitement has reached the players as well.
A video posted on Josh Nichols’ personal Instagram Story has now emerged, and it shows Myles Lewis-Skelly celebrating Romano’s post about Gyokeres.
The teenager could be heard saying “Let’s go” before copying Gyokeres’ iconic mask celebration.
It’s safe to say that members of the Arsenal squad have been waiting for the Gyokeres deal to be done just as much as the fans.

How much have Arsenal agreed to pay Sporting CP for Viktor Gyokeres?
Sporting have been a nightmare to negotiate with in recent weeks.
Gyokeres is said to have had a pact with the Portuguese champions to leave for a pre-agreed fee, but the club’s president did not honour that agreement.
That complicated things for Arsenal, but a deal is about to be completed now for a fee of €63.5 million (£54.8m) plus €10 million (£8.6m), according to The Athletic.
That is not a bad deal at all for a striker like Gyokeres, who has scored 97 goals over the last two seasons at Sporting CP.
Even if he scores half as many goals for Arsenal, he will be viewed as a success.
