Kai Havertz will be afforded a rest during this international break.
Arsenal striker Kai Havertz will not feature for Germany in the coming days.
Havertz has been in blistering form so far this season, and was on the scoresheet again on Saturday as Mikel Arteta’s side overcame Southampton at the Emirates Stadium.
Havertz has now matched Robin van Persie’s record of having scored in seven consecutive games on the North London club’s own patch.
The 25-year-old has now established himself as Arteta’s first choice to lead the line, and looks ready to shoulder the burden of being a reliable goal threat for the Gunners.
However, Arsenal fans now have a reason to be concerned about the former Chelsea man.

The truth about Kai Havertz’s knee injury
Havertz has pulled out of international duty with a knee injury. As such, he will play no part for Germany in their upcoming fixtures against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands.
Whilst the 53-cap star’s injury is not thought to be serious, and he is expected to be back in action for Arsenal once the international break is over, the player is dealing with a long-standing fitness issue.
As revealed by The Sun, Havertz: “Has been managing a minor knee issue since the end of last season – something that he carried over into the Euros.”
The fact that he has been dealing with his knee problem for so long makes the form he has produced for Arsenal in that time all the more admirable.
However, there will be concerns at the club that the fact that Havertz has been struggling with a knee problem for so long could indicate that it may become more serious in time.
Arsenal lack reliable cover for Kai Havertz
Gabriel Jesus is likely the next in line to play up front for Arsenal were Havertz to miss a fixture. However, at this time there is a huge gap between the Brazilian and Havertz.
Jesus has come under fire from Arsenal fans already this season, and is currently enduring a lengthy goal drought. Few would have great faith in him to step up and deliver in the manner that Havertz has been should he be required to.
With that in mind, Arsenal may seek to bolster their strikeforce in the upcoming January transfer window, sourcing some additional support and cover for Havertz.
