Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign Christian Norgaard to bolster their attacking ranks this summer, Arsenal Insider understands.
The Gunners have been tracking the Danish international for a while, as uncertainty lies ahead for the midfield ranks.
Jorginho’s exit this summer is set to be followed by Thomas Partey leaving Arsenal as a free agent in the next week.
Martin Zubimendi’s impending arrival is set to bolster one of the two midfield positions, though he is seen as a direct replacement for Jorginho.
For the Thomas Partey replacement, Arsenal have turned to Christian Norgaard.
Arsenal have made a first bid for Norgaard, as the deal is moving towards a swift conclusion.

Arsenal pushed for Christian Norgaard move as Thomas Frank’s exit unsettled Brentford captain
Arsenal’s move for Christian Norgaard has moved along swiftly, as interest in the midfielder has been jumped upon.
Despite signing a new deal earlier this year, a move totalling the region of £15 million is set to be agreed upon.
There are still some details to be ironed out, but it’s one that Arsenal have been working on for some time.
Transfer expert Graeme Bailey revealed as much when he told Arsenal Insider: “Norgaard was unsettled by Thomas Frank leaving Brentford, but he is very settled in London. His people started doing work on options only this month.
“It became apparent that Arsenal were very much in play, I am told by Arsenal sources that they have always held Norgaard in high regard and had enquired about him prior to him signing his new deal earlier this year, but their plan at that point did likely include Thomas Partey remaining.
“Now with Partey all but certain to leave, Norgaard has progressed quickly – the two clubs could have a deal done by the weekend, that is just how fast this is going.
“He is firmly on course for Arsenal as it stands. He wants the move.”
With Frank only just recently joining North London rivals Tottenham, it shows how quickly things have progressed.
It’s good news for Arsenal, though, as they have found their swift replacement for Partey.

Andrea Berta has moved quickly to allow Arsenal focus to shift elsewhere
It’s fair to say that while Arsenal haven’t completed any deals yet, they are moving swiftly in the market to cover off any potential problems.
Backup goalkeeper is set to be solved with Kepa Arrizabalaga’s arrival at the Gunners in the coming weeks.
The midfield will now be solved with Martin Zubimendi joining Arsenal, alongside another new partner in Norgaard.
That then gives more time and focus for Andrea Berta to look at the forward ranks.
Arsenal have struggled for goals in key matches over the past season, and the options at their disposal are likely to be complicated, costly deals.
With the squad starting to flesh out, all eyes are on the striker and wide positions.
