Where is Ben White now? How Arsenal star is spending break after England snub

Ben White is seemingly not currently with the Arsenal squad, having already declared himself unavailable for England in the current international break.

Arsenal star Ben White has been in the headlines in recent weeks.

Gareth Southgate recently confirmed that White has requested not to be selected for international duty.

The right-back’s decision to opt out of contention for a place with the Three Lions was met with disapproval from some quarters. Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp hit out at White in a furious rant. talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan was also critical of White.

However, the 26-year-old received support form elsewhere. Mikel Arteta will surely back his player, and the fact that Arsenal confirmed White’s new long-term contract on the same day as Southgate’s revelation was unlikely to have been a coincidence.

White’s Arsenal teammates have also hailed the defender for his “warrior” spirit.

What is Ben White doing now?

As reported by the Daily Mail, White is apparently currently taking some time away from football entirely. As indicated by a social media post put up by his wife, Milly White, the full-back is enjoying a break in the sun in Dubai.

The north London club will have sanctioned this trip. Arteta is presumably happy for White to take some time off amidst the headlines and speculation that has surrounded him in recent days.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, England slumped to a 1-0 defeat against Brazil in a friendly clash at Wembley Stadium. Southgate’s side looked uninspired against their South American opposition.

What are the rest of Arsenal’s internationals doing?

Arsenal now have eleven players away on international duty, after Bukayo Saka pulled out of the England squad due to injury. Gabriel Magalhaes also dropped out of the Brazil squad for fitness reasons.

Meanwhile, Kai Havertz impressed for Germany this weekend as he got on the scoresheet in a win over France in Lyon.
