William Saliba has revealed that one of his Arsenal teammates is ‘a kid’ behind the scenes.

The Frenchman has established himself as one of the best defenders in world football over recent years, leading Mikel Arteta’s side to become the best defensive team on the planet.

The Gunners have an outstanding selection of defenders at their disposal, all of whom provide different qualities to make a well-rounded cohort.

However, away from the pitch, Saliba thinks one of these world-class defenders is childish.

William Saliba says Gabriel Magalhaes is like ‘a kid’

Saliba and Gabriel have formed an excellent partnership at the heart of Arsenal’s defence in recent years.

The two players’ skillsets perfectly complement each other, and this duo has been a huge contributing factor in the Gunners becoming one of the best defensive teams in the world.

Away from the pitch, the assumption is that Saliba is the calm and more reserved character, while Gabriel is perhaps the louder and more rambunctious personality, based on their respective demeanours on the pitch.

However, speaking to Sky Sports, Saliba revealed that he and his Brazilian counterpart are both childish.

“What is your favourite thing about Gabriel off the pitch?” he was asked.

“He’s a kid, like me, he loves to talk and have a laugh, he’s a kid and it’s nice to be friends with him off the pitch,” he replied.

Arsenal will have Saliba and Gabriel together until at least 2029

Saliba is set to sign a new five-year contract at Arsenal, which will keep him in North London until 2030.

Meanwhile, Gabriel signed a new four-year deal with the Gunners in the summer, meaning both players are tied down for the foreseeable future.

Arsenal therefore have the best centre-back partnership in the world at their disposal for at least another three seasons after the current campaign.

Regardless of what happens in the attacking areas and whoever is coaching the team, just having these two players together means the Gunners’ floor will remain extremely high at all times.

The two players certainly have an opportunity to establish a legacy and make themselves legends in N5.
