Arsenal are preparing to launch another assault on the Premier League title, after finishing as runners-up in each of the last three seasons.
After two years of pushing Manchester City close, the Gunners finished some way off Liverpool last campaign, in what was a disappointing domestic season.
Andrea Berta has responded to this disappointment impressively, swiftly adding six players to Mikel Arteta’s ranks, all of whom should significantly improve the Spaniard’s squad.
Liverpool scored 17 goals more than Arsenal in 2024/25, clearly highlighting the area the Gunners must improve in next season to close the gap.

William Saliba describes Viktor Gyokeres as ‘scary’
Viktor Gyokeres completed his move to Arsenal for £63 million on Saturday, joining the North London club after a protracted transfer saga.
The Swede found the back of the net 54 times last season for Sporting CP, and will hope to replicate this form next term in N5.
Arsenal beat Sporting 5-1 back in November, and despite the result, Gyokeres caught the eye with his performance for the Portuguese outfit.
William Saliba was impressed with the striker and waxed lyrical about the new signing upon his arrival at the Emirates.
In an interview with ESPN, the Frenchman described Gyokeres as ‘scary’.
“We know how good he is, it’s scary to play against him,” Saliba said.
“Of course, I’m so happy to have him in my club and I’m sure that he will help us to win games and win trophies.
“[He is scary] because when you face a striker who scores goals, you have to be focused! But now he’s in our team and he will score for us, so that’s good.”
Gyokeres could make his Arsenal debut against Tottenham on Thursday, with the 27-year-old expected to commence training with his new team-mates this week.

Viktor Gyokeres will bring a fear factor Arsenal previously lacked
As Saliba suggested, Gyokeres frightens defenders and will continue to do so in the Premier League.
The former Coventry City man boasts electric pace and power in abundance, while he’s willing to take ferocious shots from all sorts of angles.
These attributes will prove to be a nightmare for defenders in the English top flight, and will add an element to Arsenal’s attack that they previously lacked.
| Viktor Gyokeres’ Primeira Liga Statistics 2024/25 | |
| Appearances | 33 |
| Goals | 39 |
| Assists | 7 |
| Shots per 90 | 4.08 |
| Expected Goals per 90 | 0.99 |
| Key Passes per 90 | 1.96 |
| Expected Assists per 90 | 0.22 |
While the Gunners’ set of forwards all have facets to their game that are important in their own right, none of them quite offer the relentlessness and forcefulness that Gyokeres offers.
As long as he settles in quickly and integrates effectively, Gyokeres can thrive in a red and white shirt.
