Thomas Partey is expected to leave Arsenal this summer.

The Ghana international’s current contract expires at the end of June, and the Gunners have been in talks to extend his deal.

However, news has emerged now that talks between Arsenal and Partey have stalled, and all signs point towards the midfielder leaving the club on a free transfer.

Martin Zubimendi is coming in to replace Partey, but Arsenal will need another midfielder to fill Jorginho’s shoes as well.

Albert Sambi Lokonga could help Arsenal land a great replacement.

Arsenal should use Albert Sambi Lokonga in a swap deal to sign Lucien Agoume

Lucien Agoume is a fantastic young midfielder.

The Frenchman, 23, plays his football at Sevilla, and he has produced several exceptional performances in Spain over the last 12 months.

Agoume and Lokonga played together on 16 occasions last season, and both players made each other better in La Liga.

Arsenal are now interested in signing Agoume, and Andrea Berta has the perfect opportunity to land him in a clever swap deal.

Sevilla have the option to sign Lokonga permanently for £10 million, but that figure is proving to be too much for the Spanish side.

Arsenal should take advantage of their financial situation by offering some cash along with Lokonga to seal a deal for Agoume, who would be a fantastic addition to Arteta’s side.

Lokonga has publicly claimed that he wants to join Sevilla on a permanent deal. That should make this easy for Arsenal to land Agoume in a swap deal.

Arsenal fans deliver verdict on Lucien Agoume replacing Thomas Partey

Many Arsenal fans have long been of the opinion that Partey should be moved on at the end of his contract in July.

The Ghanaian did well for the Gunners last season, but he is 32 already, and his past injury history makes him an unreliable player.

Agoume would be a fantastic replacement, and Arsenal fans would love him at the Emirates.

One Arsenal fan wrote: “Lucien Agoume & Martin Zubimendi, the clearest Partey & Jorginho replacements respectively. I’d be over the moon with both. Neither would break the bank or demand big wages, leaving funds for big attacking signings.”

Another tweeted: “Lucien Agoume could be sold for less than €20m. If Thomas Partey leaves Arsenal this summer, he is someone who can come in, take Jorginho’s minutes and more. Replacing two midfielders in one window would freshen things; fans shouldn’t fear this change.”

“Agoume, lone six, perfect talent here to replace our six needs post Thomas Partey,” said another.
