The 24-year-old has been one of the best attacking players in the Premier League over the last two seasons, and now he could be on the move to the Emirates Stadium.

Now, ahead of the Gunners’ move for Rogers, Arsenal Insider takes a look at why the attacker would be a textbook Arteta signing.

Morgan Rogers can play in the number ten and left wing

One trait Mikel Arteta seems to love with his signings is the ability to play in multiple positions.

The Spaniard has signed players like Piero Hincapie, Cristhian Mosquera, Eberechi Eze and Jurrien Timber, who can all play in several different roles.

Now, Arsenal believe Morgan Rogers’ versatility would make him a great asset to the squad as he could fill two different roles.

The Aston Villa attacker can play in both the number ten role and as a left winger, much like Eze.

Having a big squad and players who can cover different areas seems to be a priority for Arteta, and that is why Rogers could be perfect.

Morgan Rogers is another physical player

Another factor Arteta looks for when making new signings is bringing in players who are able to physically dominate.

The Spanish coach has transformed Arsenal, and that has largely been down to bringing in players who can deal with the physicality of the Premier League.

You only have to look at Arsenal’s defensive duo of Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba to see how physical the Gunners have become.

At 6 ft 2 and 80kg, Rogers certainly passes the test of being physically big and would further add to the size of this Arsenal team.

Morgan Rogers is certainly Premier League-proven

Premier League-proven is another factor Arteta likes, and given how good Rogers has been over the last two seasons, he has certainly proved himself in the English top flight.

Last season, the Villa attacker produced 14 goals and 12 assists, including a goal and assist in the Europa League final.

The winger helped fire Villa back in the top four and win the Europa League, and now a move to Arsenal looks to be on the cards.

Morgan Rogers has a very impressive injury record

On the walls of Arsenal’s physio room is written, ‘Your best ability is your availability’, which hasn’t quite been the case for many of the Gunners’ stars this season.

Arsenal plan to overhaul their medical department this summer after losing several players to injury across the season.

But for Rogers, his availability has certainly been outstanding, making 109 appearances for Villa over the last two seasons.
