The January transfer window is fast approaching, and one of Arsenal’s rumoured targets is certainly getting his name out there.

Sporting director Andrea Berta has not stopped working since he arrived at the Emirates to replace Edu Gaspar.

After putting together an impressive summer transfer window, the Italian has some names on his list in preparation for future windows, one of which is Yan Diomande.

As Arsenal Insider revealed, Arsenal are taking a close look at Diomande among a list of many other clubs.

The teenager is flying in the Bundesliga and put his name up in lights on matchday 13.

Is Yan Diomande exactly the signing Arsenal need? If not, who is?

Arsenal target Yan Diomande scores a hat-trick for RB Leipzig

Berta has been window shopping at RB Leipzig for some time, as Arsenal debated signing Benjamin Sesko in the summer.

Viktor Gyokeres was chosen instead; however, the Gunners could now return to the German club in the hope of acquiring Diomande.

On matchday 13 of the Bundesliga season, the Ivorian winger scored a hat-trick for Leipzig against Eintracht Frankfurt.

His performance earned him a 10/10 rating on Sofascore, as he not only scored three goals but also completed four dribbles and won six duels.

Still only 19, Diomande might’ve turned Berta’s head back in N5, but despite the player’s talent, a lot of consideration will be taken before a decision is made.

Sky Germany reported that RB Leipzig expect a sum of €100m (£88m) to allow Diomande to depart, a jaw-dropping fee for a relatively inexperienced star.

It’s not only the winger’s inexperience that could deter Berta from paying such a high price, but also whether he’d be suited to the Premier League.

Thierry Henry might be against Yan Diomande signing

The topic of players moving from the Bundesliga to the Premier League is rife, with Thierry Henry making his thoughts known earlier this season.

When Henry was discussing Florian Wirtz’s struggles, the Arsenal legend shared his belief that players who star in Germany won’t necessarily perform in England.

Should Thierry Henry’s comments about the Bundesliga deter Arsenal from signing players from the league?

“I always have a question mark over people who perform in Germany,” Henry said.

“That’s only me, I’m not saying they won’t perform in another league, I’m just saying because of the way the league is there, really stretched, if you can run well, you’re going to have a lot of opportunities, goals and assists. People can run with you in this league, so it’s very difficult.”

Arsenal’s record goalscorer made his opinion known, but could it prevent the Gunners from signing their next potential high scorer?

Diomande is on fire in the Bundesliga, but to do it in the Premier League is a whole different story, giving Arsenal’s scouts a lot of work to do to come up with an answer.
