Arsenal are doing one of their best players a huge favour and no one is talking about it

There’s very little to complain about at Arsenal right now; however, not everything is perfect.

Sitting top of the Premier League, top of the Champions League, being in the Carabao Cup final and competing in the FA Cup, Arsenal are in dreamland.

Dreams won’t be realised until the season is over, giving Mikel Arteta’s players a huge three months ahead to deliver greatness.

While some players are doing just that, others really need to step up.

Arsenal’s form is taking attention away from Bukayo Saka’s underperformance

Viktor Gyokeres is finding his feet, just as he was starting to be ruled a lacklustre signing.

The same now needs to apply to other members of Arsenal’s attack, including Bukayo Saka.

Saka is set to return from injury soon, and he needs to hit the ground running.

The winger has only scored four times in 21 Premier League appearances this season, which is way behind where he should be.

Be honest, are you worried about Bukayo Saka’s form in front of goal?

As Arsenal are dominating in England and Europe, there has not been a lot of discourse about Saka’s underperformance, which is a relief for the 24-year-old, who won’t be happy with his numbers.

When talking about Arteta’s attackers, Saka is an undroppable figure, but his goal tally this season is way below par, and it seriously needs to improve.

As Arsenal prepare to agree a £300k-a-week contract with Saka, the England international must ensure that his output matches his new deal.

In the Hale End graduate’s defence, he’s never been a prolific goalscorer, but he’s made up for that department with assists; though, thus far, he only has three.

It’s going to be a crucial end to the campaign for Saka, whose goals mean more than merely upping his tally, as he needs to step up and help win Arsenal the Premier League.

Saka’s lack of goals are not going unnoticed

As others in the Arsenal squad are stepping up, it makes those who aren’t even more noticeable.

The Gunners’ trio of Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard and Saka had a combined total of 67 goal contributions in the 2022/23 Premier League season.

If you had a message for Bukayo Saka ahead of his return, what would it be?

This year, they only have a combined 15, which says everything you need to know about what Arsenal are missing.

It’s not only those in the Arsenal squad who are making Saka’s tally look worse, but those outside, too, as Saka’s record this term is being shown up quite remarkably by others, including Florian Wirtz.

In a superb season for Arsenal, Saka is having one of his worst campaigns, with the blow softened thanks to how well the Gunners are doing as a collective.
