Andrea Berta could take advantage of Wolves’ relegation status by delivering a long-term transfer target to Arsenal.

Plenty of Premier League clubs will be looking at Wolves, wondering how they can raid the West Midlands side for their better players in January.

Relegation looks certain for Wolves, who, despite being absolutely terrible as a collective, have a vast array of talented players in their squad.

Arsenal could find themselves a bargain by shopping at Molineux in January, particularly after Mikel Arteta shared his stance on the Gunners’ transfer plans.

Imagine this: You are Andrea Berta, Arsenal have given you £50m to spend in January, where is that money going? 👀

Arsenal should look to sign Andre from Wolves in January

Speaking in a press conference, the Arsenal manager said that the North Londoners will be ‘actively looking to strengthen the squad’ in the winter transfer market.

One area that undoubtedly needs attention is the midfield, as beyond Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi, Arteta’s options are rather barren.

That’s where Wolves’ woes could come in use, as it wasn’t long ago that Arsenal wanted to sign Andre when he was at Fluminense.

Edu Gaspar had scouted Andre in Brazil during his time at Arsenal, but the midfielder eventually signed for Wolves in the summer of 2024.

Putting this season aside, Andre is highly rated in the Premier League and has proven that he’s a good match for the English top flight.

Speaking on Match of the Day last season [15/03/25], Danny Murphy said the following about the former Arsenal target.

“Andre, I really like. Very tenacious but really nice and tidy on the ball.”

Though there are no positives to take from Wolves this season, Andre mustn’t be overlooked, as he has something that could really benefit Arsenal.

Andre is actually one of Europe’s best midfielders

Arsenal need a backup for Rice and Zubimendi, that is certain, as the pair cannot be relied on for the entirety of the season.

Are there any players in relegation-threatened sides that you’d like Arsenal to sign?

Right now, the prospect of losing one of the pair is nightmare-inducing, which is why recruiting a player of Andre’s profile could be smart.

It’s not only because the Brazilian would be available for a bargain price, but because he’s proven himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe’s top five leagues.

Signing a player who is already proven in the Premier League and is capable of rotating with Rice and Zubimendi is a must in January, and Berta might not need to look further than Andre.
