Arsenal are set to take on Ipswich Town in a huge Premier League clash that will have plenty of different storylines, no matter the result.

The Gunners are preparing to see some familiar faces, with Omari Hutchinson reuniting with Arsenal, along with Harry Clarke – with the pair having come through the Hale End academy.

While there has been some overlap between the clubs and transfers over the years, there may be a potential one on the cards in the future.

Ipswich striker Liam Delap has been linked with a move away from the Tractor Boys and given Arsenal and their need for a centre-forward, it isn’t too far-fetched to suggest a switch.

Fortunately for Mikel Arteta, there is a chance to scout the star ahead of the January transfer window.

Arsenal can scout Liam Delap ahead of potential transfer

Arsenal have been linked with a transfer for Liam Delap, with the star having been rumoured with some interest from the top clubs.

His impressive debut campaign in the Premier League with Ipswich has seen him offer a range of different skills.

The former Manchester City man is more than strong enough to work with his back to goal, while he has some pace to be able to turn a defender and find space behind.

At just 21 years old, there’s plenty of room for growth, with the striker touted to be one of England’s next big forwards.

Arsenal will get a chance to get an up-close and personal view of Delap in a scouting opportunity at the Emirates Stadium on Friday.

The Gunners have had similar chances earlier this season, with a view to watching Viktor Gyokeres when taking on Sporting CP.

While Arteta will be looking to keep Delap quiet, an impressive performance could sway a move in the transfer window.

How Liam Delap has done at Ipswich this season

Ipswich paid around £20million for Delap in the summer, but could look to make that back and some more in the coming transfer window.

Along with an impressive all-round game, he has also shown a goal-scoring touch for the relegation battlers so far.

With opportunities at a premium for a team struggling at the bottom, he could increase those numbers for a better team.

Whether that’s with Arsenal or elsewhere really remains to be seen, but Arsenal could be one of those in the race.
