Arsenal and Man City both win this weekend to ensure the gap remains at six points but the Gunners can take more than just a good result away from the fixtures.

The Gunners easily saw off Sunderland in what many thought might be a tricky game and but for late drama at Anfield, could have sat even further in front of City.

Nevertheless, things keep ticking along nicely for Mikel Arteta’s charges and with Brentford to come this week, it’s another big game.

However, while Arsenal will know that they control their own destiny, that doesn’t mean they don’t mind getting a helping hand either.

And ahead of Brentford and then Tottenham coming up, Arsenal have been handed two huge boosts.

Arsenal get suspension help ahead of Brentford and Tottenham

We all know this time of year is a tough one for football clubs. The cold weather, injuries, suspensions and everything else that goes with the pressures of top flight football.

For Arsenal, they’ve managed to navigate this pretty well and actually have players returning, rather than missing.

However, for upcoming opponents Brentford and Tottenham, things are different.

Brentford will be without the influential Kevin Schade when Arsenal take them on this week.

More importantly though, ahead of the North London derby against Tottenham, Spurs’ best defender Cristian Romero will also miss out through suspension.

Romero picked up yet another red card this weekend, meaning he is out of the big one.

Arsenal, then, seem to be getting plenty of dominoes falling their way right now.

Arsenal will never be more confident in a London derby

Everyone knows that derby games can have a different feel about them but you have to say that this Arsenal team has nothing to fear from Spurs.

With Romero now missing as well, this is as good a chance as Arsenal will get to absolutely hammer their big rivals and pick up a win.

Do you think Arsenal will clinch the Premier League title at the Etihad?

Thomas Frank – like so many at Spurs – has just not got to grips with things and he’s already under pressure.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are like a well-oiled machine and if they perform, could embarrass Frank’s side.

This is the big chance for Arsenal to have their way with Spurs like never before and they simply have to take it.
