Mikel Arteta will currently be considering attacking acquisitions to add to his Arsenal squad in the January transfer window.

Arsenal have been told that they need to sign a striker this winter, and following the injury to Bukayo Saka, the need to bring a fresh supply of goals and assists to the Emirates Stadium has become even more pressing.

Arsenal have options to lead the line in Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus, but neither is the most prolific of goalscorers.

Mikel Arteta will be desperate to add a reliable and clinical finisher to his ranks, and has been keeping tabs on a number of potential recruits, including Newcastle United star Alexander Isak and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush.

Arsenal learn Omar Marmoush and Alexander Isak price tags

Arsenal know that Newcastle will want £150 million for Isak, making him a hugely expensive option for the North London club.

However, the Sweden international has proven himself in the Premier League, and would be an ideal fit for this Arsenal team with his pace, physicality, and versatility.

Like Isak, Marmoush is capable of both leading the line and playing on the flanks. Particularly in light of Saka’s absence, this ability to take up multiple roles will appeal to Arteta.

On top of that, Marmoush could be available for a fee in the region of £50 million this winter, as reported by journalist Florian Plettenberg on X.

Arsenal have already made a move towards signing Marmoush, suggesting that the Egyptian is Arteta’s top target at this time.

Omar Marmoush vs Alexander Isak comparison

When comparing Isak and Marmoush’s stats – sourced from FBRef – it is easy to see why Arteta is so keen on the Frankfurt man, especially when considering the disparity between the two players’ price tags.

Marmoush profiles quite similarly to Isak, though his lack of Premier League experience may be something of a cause for concern, especially as he would be required to hit the ground running if he were to come to the Emirates Stadium this winter.

However, there is certainly reason to believe that the 25-year-old could solve a lot of the problems that Arteta is currently facing, whilst also representing a far more affordable option than Isak.
