Arsenal spent the January transfer window chasing an attacking option that would helped bolster their squad for the rest of the campaign.
Ian Wright demanded that the Arsenal Hierarchy help Mikel Arteta by signing a new striker but his plea did not come to fruition as Arsenal ended the window without any incomings.
The Gunners squad is considerably weaker in the forward areas after injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus, there is also the sense that Kai Havertz is not the prolific striker that is needed to win the major honours.
Arteta made it clear Arsenal lack options in attack but despite Josh Kroenke being in attendance for the Champions League clash with Dinamo Zagreb, no deals were secured by the club.

Mikel Arteta could leave Arsenal amid transfer frustration
Arteta has rebuilt Arsenal during his tenure as manager from the club languishing in mid table to being genuine title contenders on a consistent basis.
He hasn’t been able to win a Premier League or Champions League so far however, there is the sense that his team are close. They are just missing that extra bit of star quality in attack.
Unfortunately for Arteta, there seems to be a lack of urgency from the club to address the matter in attack. Arsenal’s defence has been heavily invested in during recent seasons but the attack not in the same way that is required to beat the very best.
There may be a point where the Spaniard feels he has taken the team as far as he can with the resources provided and much like Arsene Wenger did when he was in charge at the Emirates Stadium, Arteta may feel he can no longer compete with the big teams for the big trophies in North London.
Arsenal fans could turn on the Kroenke family should the Gunners fail to win a trophy
Arsenal fans have been left angry at Arsenal’s lack of transfers in the January window and that frustration could boil over if it ultimately costs Arsenal their chance at silverware this season.
The Gunners are still in with a chance of winning three trophies this season but those hopes are slipping away and need to overturn a two goal lead at Newcastle in the Carabao Cup.

Goals are needed at St James’s Park and goals are needed in the remainder of the season but Arsenal now have just one fit and available striker in Havertz.
Arteta will bare the brunt of criticism should his side fail to lift a trophy this season but Stan Kroenke and son Josh should be the ones in the firing line.
Arsenal have a manager that has the character, intelligence and commitment to guide this club to long-awaited glory, the owners need to be careful to not let that asset fall through their fingers.
