Arsenal fans will probably still regret the situation to this day that allowed talented youngster Omari Hutchinson to leave for Chelsea.

Hutchinson was considered to be another Hale End jewel, a player destined to make a big impact at the Emirates.

However, Arsenal couldn’t persuade the youngster to sign a new deal, with winger deciding he’d have better opportunities in West London.

Fast forward to today, and Arsenal fans may be worried that the same Hutchinson situation could transpire with another talented youngster.

Amario Cozier-Duberry has now entered the final six-month of his Arsenal contract, making his future increasingly uncertain.

Mikel Arteta and his team are said to be diligently working on a new deal for a player they definitely don’t want to lose – but has it been left too late?

And similarly, would Cozier-Duberry be making a mistake if he left?

There’s a lot of questions and not a lot of answers right now, but Hutchinson’s example might be food for thought for Cozier-Duberry.

Arsenal youngster Amario Cozier-Duberry must avoid same mistake as Omari Hutchinson

Almost two years after leaving Arsenal, Hutchinson is currently on loan at Ipswich Town in the Championship.

The 20-year-old must have made progress this season in an impressive Kieran McKenna side, however, he has mainly been used as a substitute.

And there’s a question mark over whether Hutchinson will be able to break into the Chelsea first team upon his return.

It always seemed like Hutchinson was destined for the starting eleven at Arsenal, a dream that quickly changed.

And right now it really does feel as if Amario Cozier-Dubbery will make it all the way at Arsenal as well, as is the case with Ethan Nwaneri.

The duo fall into a bracket of elite youngsters at Arsenal, along with the likes of Myles Lewis-Skelly.

And perhaps all three should learn from the choices Hutchinson made in the past, deciding to leave Arsenal as a youngster on the cusp of the first team.

Of course, these things aren’t so black and white, Hutchinson could have easily not quite made the step up to Mikel Arteta’s first team too.

However, the move to Chelsea doesn’t look to be paying dividends.

And Cozier-Duberry might be warned to avoid a similar situation with interest from Newcastle.
