Mikel Arteta wants to sign Morgan Rogers this summer.
The Aston Villa star is viewed as the best solution to elevate the Arsenal attack, and personal terms are understood to be close.
However, Villa’s £130million valuation has slowed any real progress, but Andrea Berta is said to be working on it behind the scenes.
But what if it doesn’t happen? Arsenal need a contingency plan, and one has just become slightly more inviting.
Arsenal’s best Morgan Rogers alternative has just changed agency
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Morgan Gibbs-White has signed with ROOF as his new agency, bringing in new representation to handle the next steps of his career.
The timing is particularly interesting. Players don’t just change agencies for no reason and, while this is purely speculative, perhaps he is thinking about his next move.
Like Rogers, Gibbs-White is one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League. Both can play as a number ten, off the striker, or from the left.
The Nottingham Forest star is direct, technically gifted, capable of moments of genuine brilliance, and has been one of his team’s most important players since joining from Wolves for £42.5million in 2022.
Which Morgan do you want at Arsenal and WHY – Gibbs-White or Rogers?
Last season was his best yet, and he was devastatingly unlucky to miss out on a spot in England’s World Cup squad.
He contributed 18 goals and 7 assists across all competitions — the highest combined goal involvement total of any English player in the Premier League.
Morgan Gibbs-White’s new agency already represent an Arsenal player
As per Transfermarkt, ROOF also represent Arsenal striker Kai Havertz.
It could be nothing, but it is interesting that this agency already has a direct line of communication to the Gunners.

After Elliot Anderson’s £116million move to Manchester City, Forest have shown they will sell if the price is right.
But in this absurd transfer market, Forest may demand a similar fee for Gibbs-White to what Villa want for Rogers.
Gibbs-White only has two years left on his deal though, so could be tempted to cash in while his value is this high.
