Benjamin Sesko’s summer transfer window has not gone to plan.
Arsenal have been interested in the Slovenia international for over a year now, and attempts were made to sign him in this window.
However, RB Leipzig’s demands proved to be too much for Arsenal, which is why Andrea Berta has moved on and is pushing to sign Viktor Gyokeres.
All signs point towards the Swede joining Arsenal. That alone is disappointing for Sesko, but something else could happen now that will annoy him even more.
Arsenal could sign Benjamin Sesko’s teammate
Gyokeres’ imminent arrival will officially end Arsenal’s interest in Benjamin Sesko.
The Gunners have already reinforced their attack with Noni Madueke, while Christian Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga have also been brought in.
Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera is set to be the next player to join Arsenal, and that covers most of the Gunners’ requirements.
The final signing of the summer could come in the number 10 role, and reports have claimed that Arsenal are interested in signing Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig.
The North Londoners have been linked with the Dutchman on plenty of occasions over the years, but no move has materialised.
However, Simons is expected to leave this summer, and if a deal to sign him becomes more feasible than Eberechi Eze, Arteta could go for him.
That would be a great move for Arsenal, but we think Sesko won’t like it one bit.

Benjamin Sesko will surely be angry if Arsenal sign Xavi Simons
Sesko had the opportunity to join Arsenal last year, but he chose to extend his contract at Leipzig instead.
The striker has been open to a move in this window, and Arsenal seemed like his likeliest destination. However, Leipzig’s demands made the Gunners abandon their pursuit.
Now, there is a chance that Sesko could be stuck at Leipzig for another year, and to make things worse, Arsenal could go back to the Red Bull Arena and sign his teammate, Xavi Simons.
If that happens, Sesko won’t just have missed out on his move to Arsenal, but one of his side’s best creators would leave him as well.
If we were in Sesko’s shoes, we would be furious with Leipzig for not striking a deal with Arsenal when the Gunners tried to sign him.
