Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale faces a dilemma this summer, as he has been linked with an exit to play regularly next season, but no suitable transfer offers have arrived.
Arsenal rejected a loan offer from Ajax in recent days, with Edu Gaspar only keen to listen to permanent offers for the 26-year-old.
With the Premier League season about to start, Ramsdale has not appeared at all in pre-season, and another season on the bench could make his value decline even further.
There are clubs interested in the England International, and Wolves have been credited as one of the teams who could potentially explore a deal for Ramsdale.
However, any interested party in the Premier League now knows that they can sign a more experienced option for a much lower fee than Ramsdale would command.

Clubs register interest in Sam Johnstone and Aaron Ramsdale
Crystal Palace goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is now set to depart Selhurst Park, and the 31-year-old is valued at £10m.
Wolves, Southampton and Leicester City, who have been touted as possible destinations for Ramsdale, have now all enquired about Johnstone.
Whoever lands Johnstone will be landing an England International who recently lost their place after a surprise signing, with Dean Henderson moving to Crystal Palace last year, and there is a similar parallel with David Raya coming in to replace Ramsdale.
This could put clubs off a permanent deal for Ramsdale, as the likes of Wolves may prefer Johnstone for a much lower fee, and Arsenal now have a decision to make.
Arsenal may have to change loan stance on Aaron Ramsdale
Another season on the bench would only lower Ramsdale’s value, and an exit would be the best solution this summer.
Arsenal could re-sign Wojciech Szczesny for free as Ramsdale’s replacement, meaning an immediate transfer fee could wait.
If no permanent offer arrives for Ramsdale, a loan would be better for him than another season as a backup.
If Ramsdale leaves on loan, he can increase his value with regular game time, and by next summer there could be a lot more interest in him.
Right now, most top clubs are not interested in new goalkeepers, and those that are might more tempted by cheaper options such as Johnstone, and Ramsdale looks no closer to an exit.
